Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Employee Assistance Program is the official employee assistance program for employees and their family members that provides assessment and referral services for all types of problems caused by health, family, marital, drug, alcohol, emotional, stress, and financial issues that affect job performance.

EAP helps folks identify and clarify their problems and develop a plan for resolving them and may make a referral to outside services (such as therapists, psychologists, attorneys) to facilitate resolution.

EAP is confidential and offered at no cost to employees and their family members. If, however, outside professional services are rendered, those costs are the responsibility of the employee. Some of those costs may be covered by the employees’ health care insurance.

The EAP can provide help with the issues you face as a supervisor. Supervisors may refer employees to EAP to seek help, but cannot interfere in the counseling process. For more details on the referral process or to contact EAP at 1-877-313-4455 or visit the Washington State Employee Assistance Program.

The EAP offers a monthly newsletter discussing issues pertaining to Supervisors called Frontline Supervisor.
